Types of food and energy

* Out of 100 Units Energy which we spend daily we only get 18% energy from the food.
* As energy is needed in all external activities similarly energy is also spend in digestion of food.

* Zero Value Food: A food, which gives exactly same energy after digestion, which it takes for digestion, hence no net    gain of energy. Such food is called zero value food. It is also known as useless food.
* Zero value food may give protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals but does not give energy to the body

* Examples of Zero value food: Potato and Tomato are the only Zero value food known in the world.

* Negative Value Food: A food, which gives less energy after digestion, then energy it takes for digestion from body,    hence there is net loss of energy to the body. Such foods are called negative value food. It is also known as dead    food.

* Negative Value Food may give different nutritional elements like protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals    to body but it takes away energy from body.

* Examples of negative value food: Tea, Coffee, Soft drinks, Alcohol, Tobacco, drugs, Cigarettes, Oils and Fried foods,    Onion, Garlic, Brinjal, Hing, Junk Food, Pre - packed Food, Processed Food, Deep Frozen Food, Vegetable Ghee, Food    with additives, preservatives, colour, essence, milk, sweets made from milk and diary products.

* Positive Value Food: A food, which gives more energy after digestion, then energy it takes for digestion from the    body, hence there is gain of energy to the body. Such foods are called positive value food. These foods are also    known as live food.

* Examples of Positive value Foods:
   All Fruits, All dry Fruits, All Vegetables, All Grains, Pulses, All Beans, All Oil Seeds, Sprouted vegetables etc are positive food.

* Most positive Food: Green Pumpkins (Bhopla) is the most positive foods found in the world.

* How to get maximum energy from food?
   Consume only positive value food. Stop using negative value food and zero value food.
